What We Feed, Grows
A gentle reminder that where we place our energy — knowingly or not — becomes what we grow.
A Note About Voice Notes
These recordings aren’t meant to be polished or perfect. They’re simply me reading the post aloud, for those who prefer to listen instead of read. You may hear Zuzu singing (or griping) in the background, or even the hum of the a/c. Think of them as perfectly imperfect… a companionable voice to carry the words into your day.
There is a quiet law beneath all things:
Energy moves where attention flows.
And what we feed… with thought, emotion, focus… grows.
This is not new.
But for the mystic who is weary, it may be forgotten.
We are made of energy.
So is everything we touch, speak, think, and feel.
Even silence has weight. Even thoughts leave trails.
When we worry, replay, or obsess… we are feeding.
When we shut down, withdraw, pinch closed our hearts… we are starving.
And still, we wonder why peace doesn’t come.
Why the ache grows louder.
Why the argument deepens.
Why the heaviness stays.
This law of energy applies to everything, even what we call “inanimate.”
A garden untended will wither.
A vehicle ignored will eventually break down.
Not out of malice, but neglect.
Energy needs direction. Attention is care.
What we do not feed with presence,
we starve with absence.
And everything, in its own way, responds.
What we feed, grows.
What we starve, withers.
And the world… ever our mirror… shows us what we’ve been nourishing, often without realizing it.
And this happens whether we are conscious of it or not.
Even unspoken thoughts shape the garden.
Even unnoticed fears plant seeds.
But when we do become aware…
when we start tracing the threads of our energy…
something shifts.
We begin to choose more clearly.
We begin to tend more intentionally.
We begin to align with what we long for… rather than unconsciously feeding what we don’t.
This is not about blame.
This is about remembering:
You are always in sacred relationship.
With your thoughts. Your words. Your presence. Your pauses.
What are you feeding today?
Is it fear... or tenderness?
Is it defense... or soft truth?
Is it a story that no longer fits... or one your soul is ready to write?
Even your absence feeds something.
Even your silence speaks.
You don’t need to perform presence.
You only need to notice.
What parts of your life are flourishing?
What parts feel wilted?
Follow the energy.
Trace the flow.
See what you’ve been unknowingly tending.
And if it feels right, ask:
Is this worthy of my sacred energy?
What might shift if I fed something else instead?
Not as pressure.
As permission.
To begin again.
To tend differently.
To reclaim the power of where your energy goes, and who it returns to.
You are not powerless.
You are powerful in soft, sacred ways.
And today, your energy is listening.
